The Islamic year
is starts when the prophet Muhammad migrates along with his follower from Mecca
to Medina. This year has 354 days because Islamic year is about 11 days shorter
than the solar year, Islamic years are also called Hijra years denoted as AH (anno
Hegirae).. The name of Islamic months are as follows.

Islamic holy days
are celebrated on fixed dates of the Islamic calendar like, On12 Rabi-al-awal is
the date of birth of Prophet Muhammad. On every 1st of Ramadan Muslim start
fasting till 1st Shawal and on that day they celebrate Eid. On 10 Zil-Hajj
Muslim pilgrims. All these events related to the sign of moon on every month.
