Karachi Grammar School

The Karachi grammar school is one of the oldest and the top educational institutes of the country. It is a co-education private school. KGS was founded by the Reverend .H.Brereton in 1847 as a school for English and Anglo- Indian children. At first the school remained very small about 300 students in 1940 but over the past fifteen years the school progressed rapidly and now it has three campuses across Karachi and now its students population is over thousands. KGS is the third oldest educational institute of the country and the second oldest school of the Sindh province. KGS keeps organize functions, events and sports activities so that the students would participate and excel in various fields. Every year junior school hosts the junior school concerts so that the students will learn music in every level. The original campus of KGS is located 94 depot lines in Sadder area. The kindergarten was opened on Khayaban-e-Saadi and the latest campus of KGS located on Khayaban-e Saadi known as the college section excels in' O' and 'A' level students. The fees at KGS are very reasonable. The large number of middle and lower income students can also take the admission in this educational institute. Because of the prestigious and high status KGS got some of the children of the wealthiest families come to this school. But the selection process of KGS is based upon student's high academic achievements, its intellectuality and attendance. Only capable students got the chance to continue their study in Karachi Grammar School.
