Ali AzmatAli Azmat born on 20th April 1970, in a city Abbottabad of Pakistan. He started his career as a leading singer of Jupiters and sung a very Popular songs of its time "DOSTI" for which he was called by Indian prime minister in 1999 (than he was a part of "Junoon") to sing "Dosti" as a symbol of peace between India and Pakistan. In October 2001, he sang it again, in United Nations General Assembly with an Indian band. The New York, Times and the Village Voice told this concert ever held at the UN. Ali was famous for his look, sporting very long, curly hair in1990. However in 2002, he has bald look, before he left Junoon to pursue a solo career. Junoon is one of the largest rock band in South Asia. He joined the band in 1990. They released 10 albums between 1990 and 2003 sold 20 million albums worldwide. In 2003 Ali left Junoon and started his solo career by his first solo album "Social Circus" was released in March 2005. Social Circus has received much critical acclaim, winning 13 awards in Pakistan this year including Best album, Best producer, Best single for "Na re Na," and best new video. Ali Azmat hosts a show called "Pappu Yar Tang Na Kar" for Aag television. During the 1990's with Junnon, Ali was famous for his trademark look, sporting very long, curly hair. However, since 2002, he now sports a bald look, before he left Junoon to pursue a solo career. |
