Ashfaq Ahmad was
born on 22nd August 1925 in Ferozepur district, India. He obtained his
early education in his own town. Before independence in 1947, he
migrated to Pakistan where he completed his Masters in Urdu literature
from Government College Lahore. He started writing stories in his very
childhood, which were published in Phool magazine. He went to many part
of the world for the education and earning purpose, After returning to
Pakistan from Europe, he took out his own monthly literary magazine,
DASTAANGO. His popular TV plays include Aik Muhabbat Sau Afsanay ,
Uchhay Burj Lahore Dey, Tota Kahani , Lekin , Hairat Kadah, Mun Chalay
Ka Sauda and Alif noon and many more. He always had some kind of social
and moral message in his stories and plays. Ashfaq Ahmed passed away on
7th September, 2004 due to gallbladder cancer. |
