Benazir Bhutto She received her very early education from the Lady Jennings Nursery School. After two years of schooling at the Rawalpindi Presentation Convent, she was sent to the Jesus and Mary Convent at Murree. She passed her O-level examinations and then completed her A-Levels at the Karachi Grammar School. After completing her early education in Pakistan, she went to USA for her higher education. From 1969 to 1973 she attended Radcliff College at Harvard University, where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree with cum laude (an honors) by government. After that her education took place in the United Kingdom, Between 1973 and 1977 Bhutto studied Philosophy, Politics, and Economics at Lady Margaret Hall, Oxford, during which time she completed additional courses in International Law and Diplomacy. After that she attend St Catherine's College, Oxford and in December 1976 and she was elected president of the Oxford Union, and become the first Asian woman to hold such a post). She than returned to Pakistan after completing her studies and started her political as well as professional career. On December 18, 1987, she married Asif Ali Zardari in Karachi. The couple had three children: Bilawal, Bakhtwar and Aseefa. She was elected two time the prime minister of Pakistan and the first woman to rule a Muslim state, First time she elected in 1988 till 1990 and than in 1993 till 1996 and this time dismissed by Farooq Ali Lagari). After her dismissal French, Polish, Spanish, and Swiss governments have filed the cases of corruption against Benazir Bhutto and her husband. They faced a number of legal proceedings, due to which her husband, Asif Ali Zardari, spent eight years in prison on similar corruption charges. She had ran some campaigns for women's social and health issues, including the issue of discrimination against women. Bhutto was an active and founding member of the Council of Women World Leaders. In 2002, Pakistani president Pervez Musharraf ban prime ministers from holding office of PM for more than two terms in Government. This disqualified Benazir from ever holding the office again. On August 3, 2003, Bhutto became a member of Minhaj ul Quran International. She came back to Pakistan on 18 October 2007 after 8 years to prepare for the 2008 national elections and during her journey to her home from Karachi airport two explosions occurred shortly in which she was bit injured but safe by the grace of Allah but On December 27, 2007, Bhutto was killed while leaving a campaign rally for the PPP at Liaquat National Bagh, where she addressed to her party supporters and left the place she encounter with a suicide bomber and killed. After the assassination there seen a worst reaction of party worker on roads in which various peoples were killed and numerous cars were burn in short this day was considered to be the one of the most worst and horrible day in the history of pakistan. |
