Imran Khan Niazi was born November 25, 1952 in Lahore Pakistan, He was born in a house of Shaukat Khanum and Ikramullah Khan Niazi, who was a civil engineer, in Lahore, He started his early education from Aitchison College and the Cathedral School in Lahore and then left Pakistan to study at the Royal Grammar School in Worcester, UK, where his desire for cricket grooms. He then studied Philosophy, Politics and Economics at Keble College, Oxford in 1972, graduating in Politics and in Economics. Imran khan played cricket for the Pakistani cricket team from 1971 to 1992, at the end of Khan's career he recorded 88 Test matches, 126 innings and scored 3807 runs at an average of 37.69, including six centuries and 18 fifties. Imran khan highest score was 136 runs, he took 362 wickets in Test cricket, and considered to be the first Pakistani and world's 4th bowler holding such record. In ODIs, he played 175 matches and scored 3709 runs at an average of 33.41. His highest score is 102 not out. His best ODI bowling is 6 wickets for 14 runs. Under his captaincy Pakistan won its only world cup in 1992, due to which Imran khan will always regarded as the CAPTAIN of the Pakistani team, He than retired from cricket in september1992. In 1991 he had founded the only cancer hospital in Pakistan and named after his mother Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital & Research Centre. In 1996, He founded his own political party called "Tehreek-e-Insaff" of which he is a chairman, He was elected the member of Parliament and represented Mianwali as a member of the National Assembly from October 2002 to October 2007. |
