Saleem Malik was born on 16th April, 1963 is a former Pakistani cricketer who played from 1981till 1999 for Pakistan and also become the captain of the Pakistani cricket team. He captained Pakistan in 12 Tests, winning 7 and 34 ODIs won 21 out of them. He was the first ever cricketer to be banned for match fixing. Malik played his first Test match in March 1982, against Sri Lanka at Karachi. At aged 18 years and 323 days he was at the time the youngest ever player to make a century on Test match, He played his last Test match in January 1999 and banned from the cricket due to match fixing but was later announced innocent. He has played 103 test matches scored 5768 runs at a rate of 43.6915 times 100s and 29 times 50s with a top score 237. He played 283 one day internationals and scored 7170 runs at a rate 32.88 5 times 100s and 47 times 50s with a highest score 102. |
