Shoaib AkhterShoaib Akhtar also known as Rawalpindi Express was born on 13 August 1975 at Morgah, a small town near Rawalpindi, Punjab, Pakistan. He is a Pakistani cricketer, and a well known bowler in the world, He set a world record by bowling 100 mph two times in a match. In 1999, entered into Pakistan team, he took eight wickets in the Asian Test championship at this Shoaib bowled Sachin on his very first delivery to him. However his attitude made him popular all over he was sent back home from a tour in Australia in 2005. A year later he was found to be involved in drug scandal after testing positive. However the ban was lifted on appeal. In September 2007, Shoaib Akhtar was banned by the PCB for to beat his team fellow Mohammad Asif. On 1 April 2008 Shoaib Akhtar was banned for 5 years. Shoaib Akhtar has played 46 test matches and bowled 8143 balls taken 178 wickets his best bowling at test is regarded as 6 for 11 runs. He has played 138 one days in which he has bowled 6558 balls with 219 wickets, his best ever performance at ODI is 6 for 16 runs. Currently Shoaib Akhtar is involved in a bollywood project which is expected to launch in late 2008. |
